Ch20: Voices

"Why didn't you wake me?" Jenny said incredulously.
"Well, you weren't asleep yet," Luna replied.
    "Why didn't you bring me?"
"Jenny, shh! Luna, we need to find the Resurrection Stone!" Ray said urgently.
"I know where it is, I just don't know exactly... where it is."
Ray gave her an exasperated look. "Well where is it?"
"Somewhere around the edge of the Forbidden Forest. That's where my dad dropped it in his seventh year, at least. Although..."
"Somewhere around the- We can't search the whole forest!" Ray slumped back in his seat.
"Well...It might not be there. If Delphini Riddle is looking for it-"
"No!" Jenny said unexpectedly. "She didn't! I know she didn't! It's there, it has to be! Let's go find it!"
Jenny got out of her seat and started towards the portrait hole. "Jenny, wait! We can't just go digging around the forest in the middle of the day. We'd definitely get caught, and you'd definitely get hurt!"
"Ohhh, right! We need shovels! Thanks, Ray!"
"Fine! You two go! I'm staying here." Ray crossed his legs and picked up the book Luna was reading.

"Just so you know, I'm only here to make sure you don't get hurt." Ray sad as he, Luna and Jenny left the castle half an hour later. Luna and Jenny had dragged him along after gathering their supplies and were now walking towards the Forbidden Forest.
"Sure you are," Jenny rolled her eyes. Luna stopped to catch her breath. She was carrying the two heavy shovels they were going to use to dig while Jenny was, in Luna's opinion, being lazy.
As they reached the edge of the forest, Luna heard a voice.
"The headmistress is counting on us, Clayton!" Said Greyson's voice quietly.
"Why couldn't she count on you?" King replied.
"Do you guys hear that?" Luna asked Jenny and Ray softly.
"Hear what?" Jenny said in an agonizingly loud voice.
    There was a rustle.
"Erm..." Ray began nervously. "Aren't there supposed to be dangerous creatures in this forest?"
"Ray, it's the middle of the day!" Jenny replied.
"No," Luna said. "Ray's right... I think you guys should get out of here..."
"What about you?" Jenny asked. Luna glared at her. "Fine!" Jenny took the shovels, turned around and stomped away with Ray following her.
"Potter!" Greyson voice growled. Luna gulped and turned around. Greyson was standing right in front of her holding a shovel. Was he looking for something, too? Luna wondered. King stood behind him. "What are you doing here?"
"Err- Professor...I was..." Luna looked around and saw a flobberworm poking it's head out of the earth. "Looking for..."
"Liar!" Greyson snapped. I didn't even say anything! "Come! We're going to the Headmistress's office."
Luna gulped again and followed. King ran to catch up to Greyson. What was he doing here? What were they looking for? Then Luna's mind circled back to something earlier that year. Why did Greyson lie about my marks? Perhaps he wanted to distract her...Luna hoped all of these questions would be answered soon by Professor McGonnagal.
