Ch19: The Other Melodin

    Luna ran up the staircase leading from the Great Hall to the second floor of the castle. If she hurried, no one would even notice she was ever gone. She still couldn't help thinking, Who's the other melodin? Could it be M.M.?

    Suddenly, Luna bumped in to something.

    "Ouch!" Luna and another voice said simultaneously.

    Luna looked up and saw Clayton King rubbing his head. "What're you doing here?" he asked.

    "What are you doing here?" Luna countered. "The Slytherin common room is in the dungeons!"

    "Well what's a Gryffindor doing walking to her common room in the middle of the night?"

    "It's the morning!" Luna rolled her eyes.

    "...What are you, Potter, a human clock?"

    Luna ears turned red. She hated when people insulted her for being right! She couldn't help if she was almost a human encyclopedia!

    King bumped in to her shoulder as he went down the stairs back to her common room. Was he a melodin? He was practically evil, but he was also annoyingly lucky.

    Luna continued up the staircase and stopped in front of the portrait of the fat lady.

    "Grinding grindylows," She said. The portrait swung aside to reveal a hole in the wall and Luna crawled through..

    "Kathy, I don't want any flobberworm feeding tips!" Jenny's voice said from the top of the girl's staircase. Luna quickly dove on to a armchair by the fire, picked up a book about magical plants from a nearby table, and pretended she had been reading the whole night.

    "Luna, have you been reading the whole night?" jenny asked, coming over to the chair Luna was in.

    Luna nodded. "I've almost finished chapter nine."

    "Why would anyone in the history of the entire world write a book that took longer than ten minutes to read?"

    Luna didn't answer. She hated lying to her friend. "Jenny...Can you call Ray down?" Luna asked.

    Jenny did as she was told, Jenny and Ray sat down, and Luna told them everything.
