Ch18: Voldemort's Child

    Luna slumped down on the tree behind her. That was bad. Very, very bad. So bad that it was the baddest bad thing she had ever done. So bad-

    Suddenly, the ground started shaking, like an earthquake was happening. Suddenly, hundreds of centaurs erupted from the line of trees behind her. Luna stood up straighter. For a minute, she thought they were going to trample over her for what she'd done to Vatacinium(Overkill, she'd thought), but they kept running straight out of the clearing. Then, Vatacinium, who she recognized easily, swept her on to his back and ran the opposite direction, out of the clearing and out of the forest. Once they were out, he stopped, and Luna slid of his back. It was already dawn. Had she been in the forest all night?

    "I'm sorry Vatacinium! I'm so, so sorry! I don't know what happened!" Luna cried.

    "I do." Vatacinium said. "Do not worry about that, child. But, there is something you should worry about." He sighed.

    Vatacinium sat down, and Luna sat down next to him. "What?" She asked. The centaur looked troubled. Luna looked at his shoulder and winced as she saw blood still trickling down from it.

    "I'll start with you. You are not normal, Lily Luna Potter. You are a melodin. You have a rare gift that very few have. It is believed that only two people in the world are melodins at this time, and both go to Hogwarts. You are one of them."

    "...What can I do? Is it cool? Can I blast people I don't like with lightning?" Luna asked excitedly.

    "...No. Melodins have the powers to control other witches and wizards with song. They can sing very well, too. Melodins are also usually very hard working, and they sometimes laugh a bit too much. There are bad things about being melodins, too. Melodins are often unlucky and, on random occasions, they can become almost evil, like you in the forest earlier."

    "Oh..."

    "And, now, about the other thing. I suppose you noticed us running earlier? We were running...From Voldemort's child."

    Luna gasped.

    Vatacinium continued. "Delphini Riddle hides in the Forbidden Forest, presumably waiting for the right moment to steal the Resurrection Stone. Whenever we see her, we run. You can not let Delphini Riddle get the Stone. If she gets it, she will bring Voldemort back from the dead, and with his help she will find the other Deathly Hallows and get back the power you stole from her as a baby. Now you know this. Hurry back to your school. Now!"

    "But- Who's the other melodin?" Luna asked.

    ":You will find out soon. Go!"

    Luna stood up turned around, and ran off back towards the castle, hoping to get back in to her dormitory before anyone realized she was gone. Over her shoulder, she yelled, "Thank you!"
