Ch15: The Un-Forbidden Forest
It had already been a week since Luna had been back from Grimmauld Place, but she hadn't had much luck finding out about the Resurrection Stone. She still hadn't told Jenny and Ray either...
"What are you doing studying on a Saturday, Luna? Only Ray does that!"
"Hey! It's perfectly normal to study on weekends!" Ray snapped. What neither of Luna friends knew was that she wasn't studying.
It was Saturday morning and Luna had gotten up at the crack of dawn to read the only book she could find that even had the words "resurrection" and "stone" in the same sentence. This book...was The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Luna knew that she wouldn't find much information on the stone other than how to use it and how it was made by Death, but she read it over about seven times a day in hope it would give her an idea.
Luna slammed the book shut and walked up the staircase to the girls dormitory. There was nothing in that book! Nothing! Luna didn't want to be responsible for stopping Delphini Riddle. She never chose to do this. If she failed, it wouldn't be her fault. All Luna wanted to do is go back to sleep and dream about winning the upcoming Quidditch match against Slytherin. Maybe it's easier to be evil...Luna thought.
Suddenly, Luna slapped herself. "NO IT'S NOT!" She yelled.
Jenny ran into the room. "What happened?"
"I was yelling at myself." Luna replied calmly. Jenny slapped her forehead and walked out of the room, forgetting to close the door behind her.
Luna lazily got up from her bed and walked over to the door. She put her hand on the doorknob. She pushed. The gap between the door and the wall decreased by and inch-two inches- three inches-six inches...
"No..." Luna muttered to herself. She had work to do, and nobody was going to do it for her. Sometimes you had to do things all by yourself-even if you really don't want to, sometimes you had to get out of your comfort zone and into...danger...danger...danger...
"What?" Luna said loudly. "Who's there?" She had heard a voice...it sounded familiar...like she had heard it before, a long time ago. It was almost like a song.
Before Luna stepped outside her dormitory, she went back to her bedside to get the invisibility cloak out of her trunk. As she pulled it out, she saw a piece of parchment on her pillow. She picked it up.
You may want to begin your search in the Forbidden Forest.
-M.M.
The forest-exactly where Luna was going! but who was M.M.?
Luna decided to worry about "M.M." later and start her search for the Resurrection Stone. She put on her cloak and walked, invisible, out of the dormitory, out of Gryffindor common room, out of the castle, through the grounds, and in to the now Un-Forbidden Forest.
